We're reducing our impact on the environment by utilizing only water based latex resins. We have also reduced our demand for energy by installing energy efficient, state-of-the-art production equipment.
By installing new wastewater cleaning and filtration systems, we are able to reuse a portion of treated water back into our process, thereby reducing the amount of fresh water needed to run our manufacturing operation.
100% of the synthetic fiber we use to manufacture our floor and hand pads comes from recycled PET; Over 35% of the material used in our corrugated boxes comes from recycled paper.
Introducing Floor Pads with
Our goal is to produce products that perform to the highest standards while leaving the smallest possible impact on the environment. A leader in the Jan/San industry for 45 years, Americo has been manufacturing floor pads with 100% recycled fibers for well over a decade. We're now completing the cycle by introducing an innovative floor pad technology that has been specially formulated to biodegrade in a fraction of the time once discarded into a landfill, compared to conventional pads.* When consumers see the Full Cycle™ label, they will know they have a quality product while reducing mankind's impact on the environment. Being good stewards of the environment is simply our corporate responsibility—and it’s what sets us apart from other manufacturers.
Frequently Asked Questions
ASTM D5511 lab testing showed that up to 90% of the biodegradable material in Americo's Full Cycle™ floor pad biodegraded in 14 months, as compared to less than 7% of our conventional pads. Such lab tests represent optimal conditions and often show faster results than actual landfill conditions. The actual rate of biodegradation of Americo's Full Cycle™ pads and all other plastic materials in landfills will be slower and more variable, dependent upon actual landfill conditions. Test results do not imply that the product will decompose completely. (click to see test results).
